The ideal time to visit Amman is April through May or September through October. During these shoulder seasons, temperatures hover around 20–28°C (68–82°F), making walking tours comfortable without the intense midday heat. Spring brings occasional wildflower blooms in nearby areas, while autumn offers clear skies perfect for exploring Roman ruins like the Citadel and Jerash, located just 50km north. Hotel rates during these periods are moderate—expect $80–150 per night for mid-range accommodations in central Amman.

Winter (December–February) brings cool nights and occasional rain; pack layers and expect fewer crowds at major sites. Summer (June–August) is extremely hot and least recommended for outdoor sightseeing, though air-conditioned museums and indoor souks remain enjoyable.
