Climate Overview
Dubai has a hot desert climate with scorching summers and mild winters. From June to September, temperatures regularly exceed 40°C (104°F) and can reach 50°C (122°F) in peak summer. Humidity levels are also extremely high during these months, making outdoor activities uncomfortable. Winter months (November to March) are far more pleasant, with daytime temperatures ranging from 20–30°C (68–86°F) and low humidity. Rainfall is minimal year-round, with most precipitation occurring in winter—though even then, it's rare and brief.
Best Time to Visit
The ideal time to visit Dubai is November through March. During these months, you can comfortably explore outdoor attractions like the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, walk along the beaches, and enjoy outdoor dining without melting. December and January are peak tourist season, so expect larger crowds and higher prices—hotel rates can double compared to shoulder months. For better value with still-pleasant weather, consider late October or April, when temperatures are moderate and visitor numbers drop slightly.
Seasonal Breakdown
Summer (June–September) is best avoided unless you have high heat tolerance. Indoor attractions like the Dubai Mall or Museum of the Future become refuges. Winter (November–March) is perfect for beach days, desert safaris, and sightseeing. Spring (April–May) and autumn (September–October) are transitional periods—April can still be warm, but September remains uncomfortably hot. If budget is your priority, visit May or September for significantly reduced hotel rates, though you'll need air-conditioning constantly.
