Jaipur experiences a semi-arid climate with three distinct seasons. Summers (May to June) are intensely hot, with temperatures regularly exceeding 40°C (104°F), making sightseeing uncomfortable and exhausting. The monsoon season (July to September) brings occasional rainfall and slightly cooler temperatures, though humidity increases and some minor roads may become difficult to navigate. Winters (October to March) are pleasant and mild, with daytime temperatures between 15–25°C (59–77°F), making this the most comfortable period for exploration.
Best Time to Visit
October through March is undoubtedly the best time to visit Jaipur. During these months, you'll enjoy clear skies, comfortable weather for walking through the City Palace complex and exploring the bazaars of Johari Bazaar and Bapu Bazaar. Peak tourism occurs from December to February, so expect larger crowds and higher accommodation prices—budget hotels may charge 2,000–3,500 INR nightly, while mid-range options run 5,000–10,000 INR. If you prefer fewer visitors and lower rates, visit in October, November, or early March.
Seasonal Breakdown
Winter (October–March) is ideal for outdoor activities and sightseeing. Monsoon season (July–September) is budget-friendly with discounted rates but less predictable for planning. Summer (May–June) is best avoided unless you have high heat tolerance; attractions close during peak afternoon hours, and locals often remain indoors.
